Hello! My name is Christopher Pavia, the only full time member of Cube-Roots. I am a game artist/designer/programmer who enjoys making colorful, small, and highly polished games primarily for tablet devices such as the Apple iPad. Mac and PC are great too of course, but I enjoy the challenge/opportunity that touch devices present, allowing players to get more directly involved in the gameplay interactions.

I’ve worked in the commercial game industry for several years in a number of different roles, and while it was an amazing learning experience, it got tough seeing the same mistakes being made over and over. Design by committee (or worse, design by marketing!), thinking about monetization more than the player’s enjoyment, and ultimately creating something that is bland and forgettable. The “lowest common denominator effect” as I call it, where by trying to appeal to everyone you appeal to no one.

With Cube-Roots I hope to create enjoyable games that appeal to people but still show off my distinct character and point of view. As a player you can look forward to interesting and highly polished art styles, accessible gameplay, and respect for the player.
